As someone who came to the cycling and adventure world backwards......I grew up riding and packing horses into the West. My family would take 30 days each summer and spend it removed from civilization. I did not realize at the time what a gift my parents were giving me.
My professional life is an equine photographer. I have spent the last 26 years photographing the best of the Quarter Horse and Paint Horse industry all over the US and Canada. This occupation has taught me grit, tenacity and the art of adding in fun to any situation.
I found cycling six years ago....our children were growing up and I wanted to do something with them, not just watch from the sideline. I had no idea then how life transforming it would be. My hashtag is #myadventureredefinedme and how true that is!
I am a sponsored athlete for Salsa Cycles, Chamois Butt'r and Shimano. The support of companies has allowed me to do things just like this......I love helping other riders find their adventure on their bike. And what a life changing thing that can be.
I have been in long distance gravel races such as Dirty Kanza, Land Run, Maah Daah Hey 150 and Barry Roubaix. I will never podium at an event but am a solid back of the pack rider. The true race to me is between my bike and I. That said, I can't think of a better person to encourage others throughout the day.
My bike has helped take me out of my comfort zone, hold me there and then helped me grow. This growth has been mental and physical in nature and typically uncomfortable at times. I want to help you embrace the same growth. I can't wait to ride with you!
Ensuring that everyone has what they need, when they need it and perhaps a special treat...that's my role with Nomadic Adventure Company. As a retired Marine I understand the need to adapt to ever changing conditions and situations and adapt we do. Isn't that what these adventures are all about?
We love dogs, new friends, big burritos and what lies around the next turn. Finding what is inside of you while exploring new areas can be magical and I'll support your adventure every pedal stroke..or walk up big hills. We have all walked sometime.
I always jokingly call myself the "Best Domestique" ever...that's because I am!
